Major Internet Outage reaches North Carolina

Many of you experience problems with your Internet service over the past server days.  I wanted to let all PortBridge customers know that this was NOT an issue with PortBridge Internet but with several tier-1 Internet providers.

As you know, we do everything in our power here to ensure you have reliable Internet access and our service delivery is something we take very seriously.  As a result, I felt it important to let you know about these issues and that they were not caused by PortBridge.

The outage over the weekend appears to have been caused by a problem at an AT&T facility in Michigan but other posts point to a problem with the Level3 backbone.  This problem produced very strange results with users being able to get to many Internet sites but others were completely unreachable.
