Setting Up Your Connection to PortBridge
on Mac OS 9 or Earlier

 Setting up PortBridge on MacOS 9.0 (and up)

  1. Click the Apple Menu and select Control Panels then Modem
  2. Make sure you have the correct modem selected
  3. Click the Apple Menu and select Control Panels then TCP/IP
  4. Select "PPP" in the first list
  5. Select "Using PPP Server" in the second list
  6. In the Name Server Address box enter 209.170.128.70 then 209.170.128.71 below it
  7. Click the Apple Menu and select Control Panels then PPP
  8. Enter your Username and Password
  9. Enter an Access Number for PortBridge
  10. Click Connect

Setting up PortBridge using Internet Setup Assistant (Mac OS 8.5 and up)

  1. Double click Internet Setup Assistant icon
  2. Click right arrow
  3. Choose Add Internet configuration and click right arrow
  4. Name configuration PortBridge — Select Modem and click right arrow
  5. Select your modem and make sure Tone dialing is selected — click right arrow
  6. Enter an Access Number for PortBridge — Enter your Username and Password — click right arrow
  7. Select No as answer to IP address for configuration and click right arrow
  8. For DNS address, Enter 209.170.128.70 then 209.170.128.71 below it — Enter portbridge.com as domain name and click right arrow
  9. Enter your Email address and Password then click right arrow
  10. Enter your Username (If your email address is mac@portbridge.com, your username is mac) — Enter mail.portbridge.com as Outgoing mail server then click right arrow
  11. Enter news.portbridge.com as News server then click right arrow
  12. Select Connect when finished and click Go Ahead
