Setting Up Your Connection to PortBridge
in Windows 95/98

NOTE: As of June 30 2003, Windows 95 and Windows 98 are no longer officially supported by Microsoft. This means that Microsoft may not offer fixes for potential future problems with these operating systems, and troubleshooting support for these operating systems will not be available in some cases. PortBridge Internet recommends that all users upgrade to a currently supported version of the Windows operating system.
  1. Double click My Computer icon on your desktop
  2. Double click Dial-Up Networking Folder
  3. Double click Make New Connection
  4. Type PortBridge for the name — Click Next
  5. Enter an Access Number to dial — Click Next
  6. Click Finish
  7. Right-click on the icon for the PortBridge connection — Select Properties
  8. Select Server Types tab
  9. Make sure Type of Dial-Up Server is: "PPP: Internet, Windows ....."
  10. Under Advanced Options, uncheck "Log on to Network"
  11. Under Allowed Network Protocols, uncheck everything EXCEPT "TCP/IP"
  12. Click OK
  13. Right-click on PortBridge connection icon and select Create Shortcut
  14. When asked if you want to create the shortcut on the Desktop, click Yes

Connecting to PortBridge for the First time

  1. Double click on the Shortcut to PortBridge icon on your desktop
  2. Enter Username and Password — Select Save Password
  3. Click Connect
